The Brazilian design studio Pluri Ideas have created the Meyer collection of furniture made from sustainable natural fibers.

Pluri Ideas, a Brazilian design studio, are behind the charming Meyer Collection. Comprised of table and two sizes of seat, the collection is built using sustainable fibers. A nice change for Rattan and solid for outdoor use

The Plooop Chairs by Timothy Schreiber

The Plooop Chair by Timothy Schreiber has officially launched at the Stockholm Furniture Fair this week. Succeeding the sleek Plooop Armchair, which debuted last year at London’s 100% Design, the Plooop Chair features the unique triple plywood loop formation Schreiber deftly crafts in this series. By applying CNC-assisted cutting along with advanced traditional craftsmanship he creates a work of seamless quality with a contemporary edge. I love how the plywood separates where the arms meet the back, yet the harmony of the design is continuous.

Says the designer, “The continuous plywood rings touch and detach at key points, melding the chair’s structural elements in one fluid motion and creating an elegant and harmonious form.”

Scene XXL Chair by Gijs Papavoine for Montis

A modular seating system of squares and rectangles. A large seat stands lightly on thin metal legs. Scene is compact and relatively high. Slender backrests fold around the seating element, as a raised collar. They can be ordered with the backs next to each other or diagonally facing each other in different configurations. Because the round backs are folded around the seating elements, one person can sit in different positions without having to move anything. Its high compact seat, its elegant curvaceous backs and cushions make the Scene a lively display in big or small spaces. Scene is very suitable for lobbies, waiting and living rooms.

Folded Felt Table and Pendant Light by Li-Rong Liao

New York-based designer Li-Rong Liao has created the Folded Table and Pendant Light.
Folded Felt Table and Pendant Light are a result of Li-Rong’s experiments with different folding profiles to find a balance between structure and aesthetics. With mathematical formula, Liao is able to apply the folding concept in a large range of design aspects including furniture, fashion, and medical devices. The table is folded in one sheet of cardboard with a layer of felt finishing.

Baud Collection by Vito Selma

Rustic wicker furniture is ideal for the summer’s warm weather and the ‘Baud’ collection by Vito Selma is the perfect way for homeowners to usher in the outdoor entertaining season. The pieces from the collection have a very wavelike quality to them, with the wicker chairs, tables and seats dipping low to the ground. Henry Stool by Alexandre Reignier

Elegant in its simplicity, but intricate in its composition, the Henri Stool by Alexandre Reignier is one of those small pieces that can really set of a room.

The French furniture designer employed a white lacquered base molded smoothly from a thin sheet of aluminum, topped with subtly curved bands of ash tree for a seat. Each bowed dowel has a softness that’s translated through the bleached natural color of the wood, and the crescent form to which it has been cut. Creating an image of comfort, the perch sits atop its sturdy base which promises stability beneath the sitter.

 

One hundred of the Henri Stool by Alexandre Reignier have been manufactured, each signed by the artist. This piece is a magnificent movable that is also a decorative masterpiece.
